Green and Cockburn Antique Restoration have been successfully trading for over 28 years. Being a family run business, our combined experience enables us to make our restorations very sought-after in the world of art and antiques. We have been based at our premises in Weston, Hertfordshire for the full duration, and have gained a prestigious reputation for our craftsmanship and skills. The main side of the business is furniture and clock restoration, which is becoming increasingly busier as time goes by. We serve the areas of Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Buckinghamshire and Essex. A great deal of work that we take on is large scale restorations such as Churches or Cathedrals, and being charities, payment is taken in the form of antique items left to the Parishes.

Even our sign is old - please use the new number to contact us!

These articles, which are then spruced up in our workshop are offered for sale in our antiques showroom. In fact, since we are able to offer antique items at very low prices, most of our buyers are not private collectors but trade buyers. Weston Antiques as the selling side of the business is known and specialises in 18th century clocks and furniture.

In our clock restoration department we restore clock movements in exactly the same way as when they were made with the added help of modern machine tools. We undertake face painting and clock re-silvering in exactly the same fashion as when they were made.

In our cabinet-making department we restore clock cases, antique chairs, tables and gilded mirrors. All materials used are as they would have been, including animal glue for gluing and rabbit skin for gilding.

We pride ourselves in what we call invisible furniture repairs. This means that if we have repaired a table, chair or a clock case you would not be able to distinguish where the repair had been carried out. Don't just take our word for it. View our before and after photos of recent projects.
